Positively Welcome!

This is my First website. WHOO-HOO! It took me a year to decide if I wanted to build one, because I couldn’t settle on any particular topic anyone might want to share with me or others.

Around Thanksgiving I began noticing the Salvation Army kettles. I looked around and realized I had so much to be grateful for. I didn’t sit down and write a formal list. The list grew so large in my head and heart I thought, I know everyone feels the way I do. What a Wonderful World! Then reality reared it’s ugly head and I took another look. Lots of people didn’t share, nor could they comprehend my Pollyanna approach to life. Thus, the birth of this blog.

This week begins a new year, a new decade, a lot of new opportunities. What more can you ask of life? It depends on your vision. Right now, mine is 2020 (a little corny, but it appears to fit the question). It’s a time to change, grow, improve, repair, or regain our visions.

Like everyone else, I’ve had setbacks this year. Failure, loss, grief, disappointment, and many that are not listed here, but they are the facts of life. Yup, they suck. And although I didn’t welcome them when they occurred, I always seemed to learn something and grow . . . not always the way I planned, but somehow better with the help of hindsight.

So, where am I going with this blog? Mainly to see how many folks besides me choose a half full glass over a half empty glass, optimism over pessimism, and positivity over negativity. If you share your story, please end it on an optimistic note. We all need to hear about great possiblities, grace, gratitude, and how YOU overcame pessimism.

I’m no counselor, no doctor, no magician, or any other title out there. No special shingle hangs above my door. I’m just a plain human who chooses to drink out of a half full glass. I’ve had so many opportunities to be six-foot under that I honestly don’t understand why I’m on this side of the dirt. Without trying to sound like a preacher, I’ve concluded God’s got a great purpose for me. Hey, don’t ask me what it is, because I have no idea. (It’s going to be great though, or HE’s wasted a lot of time on me.) The only notion of an idea is that I have Faith. The very fact I wake up everyday gives me optimistism. I inventory my body parts at night before I fall asleep. Before I get out of bed the next morning I repeat the same process. If everything is where I left it last night and it still works, it’s already a good day.

Again, welcome to this blog. I hope you enjoy reading and contributing to it. We can all learn something positive from each other. Sometimes, without knowing it, we’re able to instill a little grain of encouragement to someone whose glass is always half empty. In many cases he or she has been bombarded with one bad situation after another. A huge mountain of emotional negativity builds and it appears insurmountable. With a little nudge of positive thought, hopefully that person will overcome dread to take the first step toward conquering the mountain.

We are in charge of ourselves. We make the decisions that push us forward or hold us back. Our attitudes and gratitudes guide our destiny. So, welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy it!

There are only a few housekeeping rules: BE KIND TO YOURSELFBE KIND TO OTHERS *** DON’T BE SNARKY OR RUDE *** (Save those attitudes for blog sites that wallow in self-pity and pessimism.)

Life is too short to make yourself miserable.

Thank you for stopping by. I look forward to hearing from you!
